How long does it take to make a custom piece?
Time needed to create custom furniture can vary depending on a number of factors. On average pieces will take 3-6 weeks from payment of the deposit to completion. The complexity of the design and manufacturing process can alter this timeframe, however we strive to maintain continuous contact throughout the process, along with progress updates if required.
How does the custom order process work?
If you like the style of a previous piece that has been created by us we can make alterations to size and materials to suit your needs.
If your project is something different please provide a reference image or sketch along with any other information for what you have in mind.
A digital rendering of the piece will be created and sent to you for approval along with an estimated cost. Material and finish samples can be provided at this point.
Once the design is approved, a 50% deposit is required before production will begin and a completion date will be provided.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, A 50% deposit is required upon sign off on the approved design.
What are your preferred forms of payment?
Preferred payment method is via e-transfer within Canada. International purchases can be made via credit card or paypal but will incur a 3% processing fee.
How should I care for my wood furniture?
Different finish options are available depending on the type of product and the environment that it is to be used in. Because of this, specific care instructions will be given with the piece upon delivery.
The following are some points for general care of all wooden furniture regardless of the finish type:
Do not expose the wood to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Always use coasters when placing hot or cold items on wooden surfaces.
Wipe up moisture immediately, standing water and steam will harm the finish.
Do not use harsh chemical cleaners. To maintain cleanliness, use a mild soap and warm water, then wipe dry.
Wood responds to changes in humidity and temperature, so we recommend maintaining consistent humidity and temperature levels in your home.
Regular sun exposure can change the hue/tone of the wood. To avoid color variation around items placed on the furniture, rearrange items on its surface often.
Do you ship your products?
Local clients, please contact us before you order. We are pleased to provide free delivery for the majority of our pieces (as long as we can transport and carry them without an extra set of hands). We can ship throughout North America - large items are carefully packaged in a custom crate. International shipping is also available, please contact us and we'll work out the details.
Do you accept returns?
As all products from loxley studio are custom made, we ensure that they are up to the highest quality before shipping and as such we do not accept returns. Any issues resulting from the manufacture of the piece will be covered by our warranty for 1 year after the delivery of the product.
